From Cusco, we drive through the beautiful Andean countryside toward Cusipata, enjoying scenic views of valleys, mountains, and traditional rural communities along the way.

After approximately two and a half hours of travel, we arrive in Cusipata and check in at the Amaru TreeHouse Hotel, a unique mountain accommodation surrounded by the peaceful landscapes of the Andes. Here, you will have the opportunity to relax, enjoy the surroundings, and rest before the following day's adventure to Rainbow Mountain. Dinner is not included, so you may enjoy a meal at the hotel or in the nearby village.

Spend the night in the Andes before your Rainbow Mountain hike. Staying in Cusipata allows you to begin the trek in the morning with a more relaxed schedule while enjoying a unique overnight experience close to the Vinicunca region.

The following morning begins with breakfast at the hotel before a short transfer to the trekking trailhead. From there, your guide will lead you on a gradual hike toward Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca or the Mountain of 7 Colors. The trek covers approximately 6–7 kilometers and takes around two hours, depending on your walking pace and weather conditions.

As you ascend to an altitude of approximately 5,020 meters (16,470 feet), the scenery becomes increasingly spectacular. Along the route, you can admire the breathtaking Andean landscapes, traditional communities, herds of alpacas, and impressive mountain peaks surrounding the Ausangate region.

At the Rainbow Mountain viewpoint, you will have time to admire the colorful geological formations, take photographs, enjoy panoramic views of the Andes, and learn from your guide about the natural formation and unique landscape of Vinicunca.

After spending time at the summit, we begin the descent back to the trailhead. Transportation then takes us to Cusipata, where lunch is included before starting the return journey to Cusco. The drive back offers another opportunity to enjoy the changing scenery of the Peruvian Andes.
